The Worshipful Master sits in the east, symbolic of the rising sun, and presides over the Lodge, like a chairman.

Although not actually an office (as the position is his by right), the IPM is normally the previous Master and acts as a guide and support to the Master when needed. He sits on the immediate left of the Worshipful Master

Senior Warden

The Senior Warden sits in the west, symbolic of the setting sun, and assists the Worshipful Master in opening, closing and managing the Lodge. He is the second in command.

The Junior Warden sits in the south, symbolic of the position of the sun at midday As third in command of the Lodge he assists the Worshipful Master and Senior Warden in their duties.

The duty of the Chaplain is to lead the Lodge in the devotional parts of its activities.

The role of the Treasurer is to manage the Lodge finances, keep the accounts, collect annual dues from the members, pay bills, and forward annual dues to the Grand Lodge etc.

The Secretary's official duties include issuing the summons (A formal notice of an impending meeting), recording meeting minutes, completing statistical returns to the Grand Lodge, and advising the Worshipful Master on matters of procedure.

The Director of Ceremonies is responsible for ensuring that
our ceremonies are carried out with dignity and decorum.

The Almoner is responsible for the well-being of Lodge members and their families. He remains in contact with members who are unwell, and also maintains a discreet presence in the lives of widows of former members, so that the Lodge may readily assist them should they find themselves in any particular need.

Charity Steward

All Lodges are charged with maintaining an appropriate level of charitable giving to good causes. The Charity Steward is responsible for encouraging the members to give generously, as well as leading discussions about the appropriate recipients of the Lodge's charitable donations.

This important role in the Lodge is usually covered by a senior,
experienced member. His role is to guide the newer members in the early years of their Masonic careers through education and information.

The principal duties of the Senior Deacon are to conduct candidates around the Lodge and speak for them during certain ceremonies and to assist the Worshipful Master.

The Inner Guard sits just inside the door of the Lodge. He is responsible for checking that all those who enter the Lodge are qualified to do so.

his is generally the first office held in the Lodge. The Stewards' main function is to provide liquid refreshment to brethren and assist at the dinner following the Lodge meeting (The Festive Board).

The Tyler is sometimes known as the 'Outer Guard' of the lodge. His duty is to guard the door (from the outside), and ensure that only those who are duly qualified gain entry into the lodge meeting. He also prepares candidates for their admission
